We take a look at how to apply filter in a non-destructive way in this video. This is done by turning the layer that will have the filter applied to it into a smart object. We also take a look at changing the exposure of an image. Using an Adjustment layer in Adobe Photoshop we can adjust the brightness and contrast of an image. Adjustment layers allow us to change exposure, colour and saturation in a non-destructive way. Keeping our adjustments on a dedicated layer allows us to soften the adjustment via the opacity level of the layer. We can also completely remove the adjustment layer by turning it off or deleting it.
